Shifted layers

Post by car3less » Thu Feb 11, 2016 12:49 pm

Printed on Up Box, with Up Filla ABS, 0.20 resolution, medium infill.
Print is 20 cm in height.

The printer had many problems since I bought it. From nozzle assembly problems to to broken wires. In 8 months since I got it, the printer gave more failures than good prints, but this problem is new.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Hey guys,

I had this problem at the very beginning of operating my UPBOX. Check the 3 magnets in the housing where the head is. Some of these were not glued in when leaving the factory. Chances are they either didn't get glued or the glue they used wore off. This will cause steps in your prints as the head is moving during printing by vibrations. If you can move the magnets in your housing they need to be glued. Make sure all magnets and the strip on the back of the extruder block feel sturdy and immovable.

Hope this helps!

@Fletch1971 @dabl
The cause is mostly likely the X Axis cog, as mentioned in this post

See the cog (2) is slipping on the shaft. Either paste each side of the cog with two part epoxy and leave to set before using or contact your reseller and organise a replacement X rod.
