Post by TTT험ทดสอบ » Sun Jan 30, 2011 5:31 am

V1.10:

1. Fix the Firmware V2.0 Write/Read error.
2. Add "Update Rom" function, update the parameters and programs of UP! printer.
3. Replace the old driver with WinUSB driver, Support 64bit Windows system.

Note:
1. "Update Rom" function need "ROM" file, we will upload it later.
2. User must remove old dirver of UP! printer before use the V1.10.

4. After installing, the printer will be showed in device manager, as “Free Motion Card->3D Printer@FreeMotion”.

Darkhouse,

Thank you very much for the 64 bit driver. Eventually I'm able to retire the laptop I used just to run the printer and print directly from XP64 running in a VM on my desktop! The driver installed without problems and UP! software sees the printer.
Now, *please* *please* *please* develop native software for Linux, *please*

Best regards,
j.

Thanks Darkhouse!

The Update ROM function... Do we need a firmware update to use this function?

If Yes, once we send our board in to be updated by PP3DP, will we be able to do future firmware updates using the update ROM function? (If yes, that will make a lot of people very very happy).

Lastly, stop working so hard and go be with your family!

Quite a post!

It looks like we're preparing for some major new features as the firmware thing is getting straightened out.

I've been printing fairly continuously for the past week. I can't say that I need any new features at the moment. But I certainly would like to store some prints on the printer, and I think using the SD card will make that possible, so that's one feature I'm looking forward to using, if it comes along some day.

Can I use the new USB driver with the 1.08 software?

I'd like to get 64-bit, but I don't have the new firmware.

The new software does not require firmware upgrade. The "ROM upgrade" is just an option for firmware upgrade when a new image becomes available. The 64bit driver works fine with older printers as well (mine has serial #98 or so).

Great. thanks. Now I have more options for which machines to put on the thing.

At the moment, I actually have an Asus EeeBox PC hooked up to it. Not much of a machine, but it's running Windows 7, has 2Gb or RAM, wireless, and plenty of disk space. Not bad for a machine less than $300. That's almost a giveaway with the printer.

Thanks Darkhouse....

Any possibility of having firmware updates over USB in the future? There are some really great bootloaders that only take up a tiny bit of program memory... That would be most excellent for reducing Muda - unnecessary transportation :)

OR - is there no reason to update Basic I/O and motion control? (example: adding features like "Pause" or "Color Change" only requires a ROM update and does not require firmware update)

Most new feature can be added by update the ROM/software, so we don't provide the bootloader via USB. ;)
