Is that on an UPBOX with the original CPU, an UPBOX with the CPU upgrade or an UPBOX+?

Hey Guys,

The machine's CPU version don't make any difference when it comes to supporting G-code printing.

In order to solve this issue, could you guys please reply with more detailed information regarding G-code printing?

Hi there,

Could you please send us the gcode file to us for testing purpose? Meanwhile, have you try it on the latest software?

Hi Elaine, we can try the latest version but on this forum multiple users have explained that the Up Box CPU does NOT work with gcode.

When we upload gcode nothing happens, when we upload the same gcode to an Up Box+ it does work.

I can try again but before somebody from Tiertime also didn't understand this and it seems like Tiertime is sure gcode works on all printers when in fact that is not true - at least until before this latest version of Up Studio.

I see but I do understand the problems here.
In order to solve the problems, could you please send me the not working gcode file for test purpose?
Please sent the file to: elaine.zhou(at)tiertime.net

Thanks in advance.

Hi Elaine, great to have some more input from TT on the forum so thanks for posting. :)

As mentioned above and throughout this thread we as users have been reporting for three months now that GCODE does not work on the original upbox CPU.

Let me be clear, this is not one GCODE file that doesn't work on one machine. It is every GCODE file tried by every user here on their original upbox CPU. Some of us have tried the exact same files on our UPBOX and UPBOX+ machines, and they work on the plus and not on the old one.

You'll also see a report of an original upbox not printing GCODE, but as soon as the new CPU was installed it started working.

You are now the third TT person we have reported this to (originally back in September) but it feels like we're just talking to a wall. :o

Also please see my thread where sending a GCODE file to an original upbox in studio actually sent it to the wrong printer causing yet another crash...

I also reported on two errors on the TT GCODE guide, but last time I checked you were still putting out the original document 2 months later. One of the errors caused my machine to physically crash the head after every print, so not a trivial mistake...

Hopefully things will finally improve as the TT hardware is mostly OK, just the software and technical support are severely lacking.

Hi Guys,

Hope you all had a great holiday.

We finally know why UP BOX has not supported G-code printing!!!!

As many of you guys reported, your UP BOX is not operating with G-code file. The reason causing that is incompatible firmware.

UP Studio only supports firmware version great than 346 but not included 346. For those UP BOX' firmware version is lower, the current UP Studio does not support your printer yet.

However, our programmer starts working on this problem now, the upcoming software release will be fixed this bug.

How to check your firmware: Connect your printer, go to Setting-> Printer-> select connected Printer -> Check number of Version

A huge shout-out to @UP_3DWP @OwenSparks for helping us identify and fix this problem.

Cheers,
Elaine

Hi Elaine.

I'll write a proper reply in the new year when I'm back at home but wanted to say a quick thank you for giving us an answer to this. It's great to have you on the forum.

Cheers,

So I'm still having issues with the nozzle height and g-code.

Simplify 4.0 and UPStudio 2.2.20.62

No matter how high I raise the Z-Axis origin offset, it prints about 1mm off the bed surface.

This hasn't been fixed, and was supposedly fixed in 2.1.1.1

If anyone knows how to get this working, let me know?

You mean the one I was told was patched 5 versions ago? I believe so.

Hey,

No worries on which model of the printer you had, the software update will apply to whole range of Tiertime UP 3D Printers.

Well they said the next update would fix this, they had me send a gcode to find this issue (they could have found themselves just like we all said) and now I fell for it again by happily downloading, installing and uploading gcode thinking it would finally work. Every time this is costing me time I really don't want to spend anymore. I just want my Up Box to print gcode - and I still want my broken Up Box CPU replaced by the way! It was broken by Up Studio gcode..

Hi All,

Please allow me to correct myself here, that the Gcode function in the latest version is not fixed yet.
We are fixing the issues but it did take longer than we thought. I am so sorry for providing this incorrect information and will keep you all posted.

UpStudio 2.2.0 on Mac prints g-code, and I have to say, it's fantastic !!!! (just adjust nozzle height adding 1.2mm)

G-code still printing far above the print bed in latest version of UPstudio 2.2.59.62. Firmware 353.

No amount of Z-Offset gets the bed any closer to the nozzle. I'm up to 10mm at this point.

Can we get an ETA on a fix at all? How about some information on how you are testing, and if you are able to replicate the issue?
