Using PLA with UP Mini

Post by halfluck » Fri Jun 09, 2017 11:11 am

Hey Guys,

Just thought i'd touch base to see how I could improve my prints with using PLA on the UP MINI, I've tried temps from 190-230 (in 5 degree bumps) with both doors open and the fan on full. Every job comes out grainy and not smooth like the ABS prints i've been doing.

Hi Rob!

I've been printing PLA for well over 5-6 months now and ironically, it runs more smoothly than ABS on my specific Mini :o I don't know, I have rarely had trouble with PLA once I started printing with the doors open and an extra fan attached to the extruder.

But since it makes the extruder block heavier, and I am already having problems with the magnets, I will borrow your design for the BIG fan that I was thinking of using - externally plugged via USB.

Thanks for the design! :D
