Perf board warping

Post by Stefan » Wed Aug 03, 2016 12:40 am

Anyone having issues with the per board warping?

Is there any way to fix this or do you need to buy a new one or is there a better product out there?

I am using the V2 of the new heat bed.

Cheers,
Stefan.

If the perf board cannot be hold to relatively flat by the clips (Plus) or the screws (BOX). You need a new one.

Are there any good alternatives? The perf boards are $30 AUD each.

Can you turn the board upside down to minimise the warp?
You should have received 3 with the printer - are all 3 warped?

Oh yeah good point!

I snapped the first one (long story haha) and I am on the second one but after a while it begins to warp.

Lol - no worries.
I don't think I've heard of anyone snapping one before - good effort!
I only had two when I bought mine (2nd hand) - but can't say I've seen any warping issues.
Tbh, now that I have changed the bed over to glass/aluminium for raftless printing, I can't see myself using them much from here on out.

You won't be able to use the glass/aluminium for ABS though as it needs a raft?

I did it for printing ABS. It has PEI laminated to the top of the glass/aluminium (but you could also use kapton tape/hairspray/abs juice ect instead if you wanted).
