Spring Placement on Z Belt

Post by arierutate » Thu Oct 22, 2015 6:34 pm

As I was printing something, my Z belt popped out of place and the print bed fell. I've reattached the Z belt, but there is a little spring that came off too that I guess produces friction so that when the print belt is printing, it won't move (or something like that). I'll attach some pictures. Anyone knows where this spring is supposed to go or can show me a picture of their Mini's Z belt so I can see where the little spring is supposed to go? I can't print without it.

You can place the spring anywhere on the belt so that it doesn't hit the front or rear pulleys, you may have to take a few tries to get it right.

Install the spring then pull the platform table forwards and backwards (with your hand) so that the platform table can move fully to the front and rear. If it the spring hits and stops the platform table from moving you will need to move the spring until you get to where it won't hit.

I hope this makes sense...

The problem isn't with it going forward or backwards, but the problem is with it going up and down. I've done a little bit of research and I guess this is a tension spring, but I don't know where it it supposed to go on the belt that makes the print bed go up and down. This is the belt I'm talking about:

Yes it's very helpful, but could you zoom in maybe a little bit? I wear glasses and its hard to see things for me. If not, I'll just do with that. Maybe show the side of the belt so I can get an idea of how it hooks on?

Oh ok, well basically do it like I said but, lift the platform up and down with your hand and place the tension spring so that it doesn't hit the upper or lower white pulleys when doing so.

Maybe look at the x-belt and tension spring as a reference to give you a better idea of what I am saying.

Okay, so I know where it goes now... I just don't know how to install it. I've tried to install it the same way the x belt is but that doesn't work.
