Heated Bed Question

Post by RKov » Tue Feb 24, 2015 8:57 pm

Does anyone know exactly what the stock bed temperature is set at on the newest UP! Mini?

Or more specifically it is heated by a 60C heater module. There is nowhere to "control" the temp. To get a higher temp (which I expect you will need) you need to replace this module. Some have done 80C and 90C (or was it 100C) modules successfully. You will find printing a lot more successful with ABS if the temp is at least 80C

I've done a dual bed temp mod (60/100C).
The problem is that the bed heating grid in Mini is barely able to heat more than 70-80C in the best case, even after one hour.
Anyone tried to use some additional heating resistors? The bed is powered at around 18V.

The other and bigger issue is that it is rarely uniform ... when 60+ in the centre it's often only 50C in the corners and that's a lifting nightmare on difficult prints.
