Bed temp mod

Post by yo3ggx » Mon Feb 02, 2015 9:20 am

Hi everybody,

I've made a bed temp mod for my Up! mini, which allows you to choose between 60degC and 100degC, see when the heating is powered up and when the temperature is at the desired level.
You can see it here:

I have one issue. The bed never goes up more than 85degC and this only in the center of the board, even if is continuously powered.
I've done the measurement with an infrared thermometer. Room temperature is around 24degC and the printer is closed.

It seems that because of this the 100degC thermostat never triggers. Anyone else with this issue?

Thank you,
Dan

Hi Dan,

you´re not alone with this issue.
I guess, there is not enough power to get the the heat bed hotter.
Since I don´t plan to use PLA with my mini I have exchanged the thermal switch with one rated for 90 degrees.

Hi,

It seems that even at 85degC, the warping issue is no more present, so I'm happy now. Maybe the 100degC sensor will trigger during the hot summer days, so I''ll keep it for more safety.

Thank you for your feedback.
Dan
