Any tips for printing window

Post by Dicky » Thu Nov 29, 2012 7:31 am

I printed this model by the up! mini, but the window is not printable for me. I downloaded it from thingiverse, http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:31644. If i print it on the mini printer, i have to scall it. The mini printing size is a little small. But after I scall it by half, the window is not printable.

Any tips for me to print the windows on the up! mini?

As an architectural model printer .. this is my main complaint about the Up software. Firstly add you voice to the improvements request thread :D

http://www.pp3dp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2288 Thinwalls support is what you want.

Since this particular model it in sketchup it's easiest to take the Sketchup model, scale it down to the final size you want and find all the features thinner than 1mm and thicken them up to at least 1mm which will make them print.

Thanks Roller, I was thinking to scale the windows in the Z direction, and I did it but still failed. Seems that it is the wall support things.

Before I bought this printer, I made a list for the models that I was going to print. I have got some models printed with decent output. The printer is very satisfactory to me, but the pity is I can't print too small object.
