What do you want to know? it is pretty self-explanatory. When "NO RAFT" is selected in the Up Software, no raft is printed.

Raft free is only going to be usable on a "glass" like surface, perf board is not good as you will tear up the bottom surface of your part.
Common sense. ;)

I do all my raft free printing on an UP Plus using Kapton tape over the original plate. Not sure if this can be done with the mini. Am I right in thinking the mini comes with a perfboard base. Even so I would have thought Kapton tape could be stuck over it. Separating ABS from the Kapton is straightforward and does not rip up the bottom of the part. Indeed it forms an almost glass like finish to the base of the part. AND due to its reasonable adhesion to ABS it minimises any warping. (I have the original fixed "barrier" so cannot adjust the airflow, but with ABS it seems fine. Operating out of the UK in ambients of 16 - 32 degrees c !

cheers

I have been experimenting a little with lexan and have had decent results so far.

You might find over time parts become harder to remove, until they become one with the bed....

I must be doing something wrong. When I select raft free printing, the platform doesnt get close enough to the extruder and I get silly string.

Hi,

Raft free printing is hard for Mini. But i suggest you using mouse ears parts on your design. This will reduce your raft removal time on appropriate parts. The mouse ears should be placed under your model in a smart manner. You must cut off these ears with your pliers after printing. I think this is much more easy than removing whole raft.
