hello,

is there other open source applications (slicers, printer controls) that works with the UP Mini?

No ... the hardware is closed and it needs propriety software to drive it.

Plus you already have the best slicer and support generation software! IMO

Hi
I agree with you Jamie in your praises of the Up! software. But I would have to put Makerbot Makerware software along side the Up! software for ease of use, slicing speed, and support generation. Where Makerware nudges ahead is that the extruder and printbed temperatures are adjustable. Where the Up! software software nudges ahead is that it is attached to the Up!, which is still my favoured printer.
Once again, just my own opinion.

Yes I would agree. The latest version of makerware is very impressive and the raft removal has taken a huge leap forwards, even with PLA on the 2x. Now if only the open source slicer guys would take a look.......
