The raft is really hard to remove after update

Post by RustyBoy » Thu Oct 11, 2012 1:11 am

Anyone find the raft becoming hard to remove after the latest update(1.17 software with 6.041 rom)?
I've used to print spring with my UP! with no problem. The support and raft can be ripped off without breaking the model. However , it is completely different in the new update.
I've tried uninstalling 1.17 and gone back to 1.16 , but the problem still there.
Can anyone help? Thank you

Do you have the v11 wind barrier with the door open, its under the example folder on v1.17

I'm currently using the v10 wind barrier. Do v11 with the door open makes a big difference?

You might also check to see if your print settings got reset with the update. If your Print->Support->Dense setting is large, you could try reducing it to 2 layers. I'm not sure which of the other settings may affect support material removal.

Bruce, any comment on what it's like with 3rd party filament and rafts if you've tried any?

Actually I've found raft removal to be really easy using 1.17. But I'll give 1.18 a try...
