Up Mini not printing printing on right side of board

Post by jasperash » Mon Apr 27, 2015 12:04 pm

Hello,

I have an issue with my Up Mini. On about the right hand side 1 cm of the board, it no longer will print. The print head will cross that zone, but will not stick to the board. Ive tried one hour pre heat, 15 min preheat, running my heat gun on the zone just prior to printing, putting in a board that has a base layer already printed in that zone (by rotating a previously started print) and nothing seems to work. I've also tried different STL models and it consistently cuts out in the same place. I've recalibrated the table a few times and it makes no difference. Now I'm out of ideas.

Any help would be awesome.

Thanks.

Paul

Kind of sounds to me like the platform is not completely level, does the Mini have levelling screws for the platform like the Up! Plus has??

What I would suggest is print a border test, in our UP Mini manual search for border and download the STL and print, then submit a photo of the print on the forum.

The perboard in the Mini is 14x14cm, however the print area is 12x12cm

Thanks I'll give those thoughts a shot. The table when I calibrate it is about 0.3mm lower on that side, but isn't that what the calibration is for? I thought the calibration ensures that the table is at the correct height during its travels. The nozzle seems to run not further away from the perf board than anywhere else during the print.

On the other suggestion, the print is 115mm diameter. Ive tried printing a rectangular strip along that side of the board and it doesn't see to take. But I'll print the border file and send some images.

Thanks

Hi Bruce, I couldn't find the border test in the Up Mini manual. But modeled a quick border print. The image upload to the forum isn't working, but I've put the file here:

Hopefully it shows you what is happening.

Thankyou!!

I would suspect electrical contact, maybe the stepper gets disconnected when in the right most position. Can you make it go there and then press extrude?
