mechanical properties of colored filaments

Post by cambazz » Thu Jan 08, 2015 3:42 pm

Hello PP3DPers;

So I got my first colored filament today. (red)

Previously I only printed with default white color.

I wonder if there are any differences in mechanical properties or printing with those filaments. I expect that melting temperatures could vary.

But what else can change?

Best Regards,
C.B.

Everything changes to some degree of course.
All the additives that contribute to the color will change how the material reacts.

What you will discover is that it looks really good in white then gets progressively worse through to black :mrgreen:
