Repair or fill small gaps/holes

Post by chang » Wed Oct 15, 2014 8:46 am

Hi,
I used the search function, but couldn't find anything.

Is there any material to repair small holes or gaps after printing with ABS?

The easiest, cheapest and probably best way is to put some scraps into acetone and let it dissolve. You will want to have a paste so don't use too much acetone.

This can be used to fill gaps and cracks, although it turns out more shiny than the printed abs so you probably need to sand it too...

I for myself have given up on making ABS look pretty, I only do functional :)

Or buy a 3D doodler and use it as a filler/welding tool

Would a cylinder of PLA, printed SOLID, with diameter of glue stick, work in a hotmelt gun? :D
