New desktop 3D printer from Tiertime

Post by pp3dp.nl » Wed Sep 10, 2014 11:19 am

Coming UP soon, new machine from Tiertime - see homepage PP3DP.

Finally, I can't wait! I'm very curious to see how it is built, what size build envelope it has and of course the pricing.

Will it be enclosed? Any new features?

When will it be released?

Hope to know all this soon :D

As long time user of the UP Plus, I'm a little dismayed, I've not heard of any of the "Power" users getting access to the new design before it has been put into production to give advice.
This is why the "Mini" did not impress me.
Come on PP3DP/Tiertime, I would be happy to sign a ND and test any new designs for you, just ask.

Awesome, we've been waiting so long! This must be why all posts having to do with Zortrax were recently removed from this forum ;)

Hmm!, Let's not judge them too quickly, it may be just a cover to allow the spool to be inserted.

I never cry after bad quality third-party filament, because I only buy good quality third-party filament. I only cry over a marginal extruder design that doesn't grip filament well, is highly intolerant of small variations in filament diameter, and melts filament in the feeder.

There are so many fantastic materials (and colors) available today that materials versatility has become a major consideration in printer purchasing. Of course it has to be reliable as well, but I don't believe these are necessarily mutually exclusive.

I agree. And yet so many new printers are using proprietary filaments. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see UP do the same thing, given their history.

There could be some interesting hints in the Advertising Banner

1) The Gear Assembly hints to Multi Colour Printing
2) The Colour Pencils in the Cup hints Multi Colour
3) The House Model and Screen Shot of the Software hints to a Large Build Area
3) The Cup of Hot Coffee could hint Temp changes

Thats my attempt at thinking outside the box. My fingers are crossed

Yes, it has a larger print volume than Zortrax or (just) Ultimaker.

Do you know more? Have you heard what build size it will be?

I would like to know when this machine will be presented more than anything else, the suspense is killing me ;)

I see Beijing Tiertime Technology Co. Ltd is listed as being on stand E42 at the TCT show.
I'd bet anything the new printer is going to be unveiled there.
