Part Material not enough, add material

Post by hajime » Sat Jul 12, 2014 1:15 pm

Hello, when I tried my first print, I got the message "Part Material not enough, add material". Could you please let me know what it is all about? I pressed yes and nothing happened. I removed all the objects and placed them in the virtual build area on the screen. When I pressed print, the same message showed up. I chose no. After awhile, the printer started printing.

The software keeps track of plastic consumed from the roll. When you first set up the printer, you "add" a new roll and list the weight. Each time you print, it calculates the amount of material used and subtracts. Of course, if you print partway and cancel the print, it doesn't account for that, so the actual calculated number is likely off.

Most people just set the roll size as something huge, like 1,000,000 or whatever is the largest number it allows. It'll never complain about running out of plastic again, though you *will* have to keep an eye on it yourself.
