Ultimaker still uses open sources slicers so there will be no removable support. Makerbot has made mention of removable support and presumably this is through access to the Stratsys algorithms in their Makerware software. Ultimaker is an excellent printer BUT it still requires you to build a lot of knowledge to get good prints with high consistency. Makerbot in the past has always been fairly difficult to get good prints out of without a lot of tweaking but it will be hard to say how the new models fare until a few people get them in hand. Since they are not out yet it will be a while before we hear anything from impartial sources.

If you are interested in a bigger printer maybe take a look a Zortrax printers which people are starting to receive. The only printer on the landscape which is likely to be as easy to use as the Up (ie very little tweaking possible/required) might be the new Cubes. I say might because previous versions have been underwhelming - hopefully they have improved the quality with the latest models.
