HIPS

Anyone besides Antonio printing with HIPS on an Up? I know it's being touted for dissolvable support (dissolves in limonene) but how about for general printing? Any advantages over ABS?

Hi Julia,

I have and sell HIPS. I find it prints quite similar to that of ABS, but at least the stuff I have, is quite a bit weaker. I saw no advantage to using it on a single head printer, apart from maybe the lack of smell.

Cheers
Jamie

Yup, when I was a kid most toys were made of styrene, but ABS has almost completely replaced styrene in that business due to its superior strength.
