Re: UP MINI

@Numonic here is a gallery of UP Mini prints, videos coming soon. http://pp3dp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1194&sid=68e5d9cc1aa175a651366d1d164c0154 Can anyone remove the UP! plus print photos from that thread ? It's a bit misleading if all the prints shown have not been done on the Mini eg: http...

Re: Lithophanes (From photo to 3d print)

I admit to being slightly biased but I'd call it the Crapify
The output is only mono rather than shades of gray (which give different heights) - I presume the Cube won't print a Lithophane edge up without splitting, stringing or falling over

Re: Fill

Thanks Edward, this is a really useful tip. I also thought that you meant rotating the model in the X or Y axis and didn't think rotating in Z would make any difference.

Re: Can not calibrate my printer

Thinking about it, the software could be improved just by making the screen show clearly what the current compensation values are.
Personally I never notice the text in the top (blue) bar of a window as it's normally just a description, in my opinion it should not show important data.

Re: Up! versus Mojo

The Up! Printer can hold its own against the Mojo on those prints any day! Damn, they look awesome and I am so darn glad I stumbled upon this group and finally purchased my Up printer!! I truly love the little guy, it amazes me everyday with something else I throw at it, and I also love never havin...

Re: Can not calibrate my printer

This confuses people everytime! The values shown always go back to 124 and any changes from 124 are added to whatever changes were made last time. That's why you have to hit the reset button on the far left to clear out the previous changes. This video shows the procedure: http://www.youtube.com/wat...

Re: UP MINI

It's a good list and I'm sure lot of them could have be implemented in the time it took to add software level comp to 1.18... there must be dozens of variables and constants in the software - it can't be that difficult to add a user interface or a configuration file to allow advanced users to play a...

Re: UP MINI

We will also upgrade the software to support print very few raft. Edward, can all these updates be made into option so that people who like the current raft can still have them ? I see that you are trying to respond to issues by altering the software but there are people who are happy with how thin...

Re: Wish List

2) Bug fix: If USB is left connected, the driver sometimes adds random commands to the print and extrudes or jumps around breaking my model. This is probably the known problem to do with USB earthing. I found the post where someone had fixed it here but it appears as though the image links are brok...

I took rollers comment to mean that your UP has been modified way past being able to call it an UP printer anymore, in effect you've built yourself an UP! Pro 8-) 8-)

Re: Polycarbonate print platform

I've successfully printed on cold Acrylic in the past. After a few models however, it's not always possible to remove the model/raft cleanly so you end up having to replace the sheet.

Re: calibration

if i reset the dialog box and add the values, is the software will compensate according to previous values or according the printers original? IIRC adding new values will ADD them to the previous values. You have to hit RESET to clear the previous values (even though they don't show in the dialog t...

Re: Windows 8 compatability

I think there is something wrong with the 1.17 download from pp3dp.com - I had the same thing, it wouldn't install on anything.

Downloaded another copy of it from a link in this post:

Re: Fill

My feeling is that it's related to updates to make support material easier to remove and to get 0.15mm layers...it would appear that the flowrate of ABS has been reduced, hence walls aren't quite touching + sticking together. At the risk of repeating myself... Please add some advanced options to the...

Re: Problem installing under XP/512MB Ram

The installer probably doesn't have enough RAM available to be able to unpack all the files into memory before copying them across. As you've found, installing on another PC and copying the program files\UP directory will allow it to run. As far as I can tell there are no registry entries to worry a...

Re: Large flat prints are possible even in winter

Can someone explain exactly when you apply the MEK / Acetone or SuperGlue ?
Do you apply to the perfboard just before printing the raft's 1st layer ? Or after the first layer of raft ?
Doesn't it dry before the next layer is printed over it, or when the hot nozzle passes over it ?

I'm guessing you can find the old ROM versions within the old software packages here:

Re: Windows 8 compatability

Every remaining Vista user seems to be taking the leap because of the cheap upgrade where they thought twice at the prohibitive Windows 7 upgrade cost. I'm not surprised....I'm currently upgrading my laptop from Win7 home premium. At the moment it's only 25 GBP to upgrade to Win8 Pro which gives me...
