Hi again Re: The Mbot Cube II: And $400 more than the Revolution XL, without the Revolution's ability to expand to dual-extruders. by Julia 1.There isn't that much difference in the two prices once freight from USA to Oz is added, 2. Re: New Up Plus 2 is Coming...

Hi
I reckon it will have exactly the same specifications except that it weight will be slightly different - the difference will be the weight if the Afinia badge they stick onto the Up!Plus 2.
Just my opinion.

Re: 3d printer + pet safety? (birds)

Hi It could be very handy to have birds near the 3D printer while working. People have previously asked if the fumes are toxic. They used canaries in mines to test for dangerous gases.; a bird near the printer could be used for a similar reason. Some might say that I have already sniffed to many ABS...

Re: Taulman 645 Nylon

Hi What exactly is ABS Plus? the genuine Up! filament is not regular ABS, and I have seen it labelled on vendor sites as ABS Plus. I once received a sample printed in ABS Plus that looked and felt just the same as UP! sample I made. Bearing in mind that there seems to be variances even between ABS f...

Re: How is STARATASYS uPrint Plus compared with the UP! Plus

Hi again If the Up! software allowed us to select a 0.3 or even a 0.2mm nozzle, and to print 0.1mm layers, the quality would get pretty close to the one on the left. Even with the 0.4mm nozzle, 0,15mm layers and in Fine mode, I reckon a well setup Up!Plus will do better than the one on the right. An...

Re: California senator trying to ban 3d printing

Hi again this is the gun I was posting about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aP6ETk_C1Lo Supposedly fully 3D printed, except the bullet, with a plastic barrel. Even after watching the video, I still find it a bit doubtful that it is genuine. As I said earlier - the pressure when fired would be like...

Re: California senator trying to ban 3d printing

Hi all An Australian perspective: Just simply ban buying, selling and possessing guns - unless your profession requires using a gun (police, security guards, etc). I know that many of our US friends will say "we have a constitutional right to bear arms". OK. The constitution was drawn up in the 1700...

Re: New Up Plus 2 is Coming...

Hi teamcarlisle The hardware improvements appear to be only easier leveling and calibrating. These are good improvements and will be appreciated by new customers, but when I only need to adjust the height and leveling only occasionally, and then it takes only a couple of minutes, I don't see any nee...

Re: New Up Plus 2 is Coming...

Hi all I agree with Julia. Only occasional leveling and height adjustment is required - and even then it only takes a few minutes, Also, if every time a new printer comes out we get disappointed because something new has or in this case will hit the market, we will never be satisfied with out curren...

Re: Gekko print bed add on

Hi ktronik I cannot explain why you are having this problem. I have an Up!plus, so the following applies to using Gekko sheets on the Up! Plus. I will explain how I use the Gekko. Firstly, when I bought my Gekko sheets the separation sheet was about a 3mm board. After about 6 months of printing I ha...

Re: New Up Plus 2 is Coming...

Hi all
All of this is a plus (pardon the pun) for those purchasing their first Up!, but for me, unless it has option to print with 0.1mm layers and adjustable temperature controls, I'll wait for the Up! Mega.

Hi Julia.
Your projects look fantastic. I think I want to marry you.
Hang on, I forgot that I am already married, and also quite old, so maybe best if I could adopt you.

Re: Laser cutter?

Hi Matt I have a 50 watt laser engraver/cutter with a 500 X 300mm work area. You will need a much more powerful laser if you want to cut metal. The killer will be the cost of replacement laser tubes. I reckon you might be better using a CNC router. A nuch cheaper option. Having said that, my laser i...

Re: Small nuts and bolts

Hi Matt
I downloaded some nuts and bolts from Thingiverse, then imported the ones I wanted use into Google Sketchup, where I modified the bolt head to a knurled circle and added a groove for a screw driver, then converted it back to STL format. The rest is history.

Re: Small nuts and bolts

Hi again ... even smaller now. Today I printed the same nut and bolt, but this time with a 2.00mm diameter. So, yes, the Up! will successfully print useable M2 nuts and bolts. I won't bother uploading a photo. Just look at the previous ones that I posted, then step back further from your monitor unt...
