Re: Hey Guys! Check out the video we made for the new UP Plu

Hi from the video it appears that only the Up! print bed board will be able to be used. Many 3D printer users prefer to use other print surfaces, me included, but from the way it self levels and adjusts the height of the bed, it appears in the video that only the thickness of the standard Up! board ...

Re: Need advice on printing surfaces

Hi
I am currently testing and comparing a few different surfaces for their adhesion qualities - with very good results for some of them. I am hoping to upload a Youtube of the comparison test soon.

Re: Does This Look Familiar??

Hi
I almost never get warping or lifting with my Up!Plus even with large models.
So, for me, I see little value in enclosing my Up, but I like to be able to get easy access to all sides.
As always, just my own opinion.

Re: Does This Look Familiar??

Hi I saw this late last night and immediately though "An Up! put in a partial enclosure". The price looks good, but I prefer to have access to the sides of the platform as well as the front. I would find that part of it too restricted. Also they are quoting 0.2mm layer minimum. It is a bit like an U...

Hi
Possibly with the raft included in the size it exceeds the platform edge. Try turning it on its side and placed diagonally across the platform

Re: Custommade Nozzle

Hi I bought a 0.3mm and a 0.2mm nozzle on eBay for $7.50 each including delivery. I bought them to use on a different machine that allows you to select the nozzle diameter, but have not used them yet. I was and still am reluctant to use them on the Up!Plus because the slicing assumes a 0.4mm diamete...

Re: automatic scaling question

Hi I use Google Sketchup to design models. When I load the STL file onto my UP! (and onto my Makerbot Replicator clone also), I always must scale it up by 2.54. This increases my model to the size I intended it to be. If I then save the model as an Up! file it remains the right size. for when I next...

Re: Makerware catching up

Hi all. Thank you Roller for bringing up Makerbot Makerware. The recent software update is a huge leap forward, firstly because Replicator clones can now use it to create print files. Secondly, creating a typical file takes less than a minute to create, a vast improvement on several minutes by Repli...

Re: How to use UPInspector?

Hi Just to keep the banter going on the Mac / PC definition. http://www.techterms.com/definition/pc writes: While PC stands for "personal computer," the term can be a bit ambiguous. This is because Macintosh computers are often contrasted with PCs, even though Macs are also technically PCs. However,...

Hi Julia
I was being a bit diplomatic about the costings, etc. You have stated exactly what I was thinking about the price.

Re: The Cheapest and Nice Looking 3D Printer is Now On Sale!

Hi The word "MAY" is very relevant. Their own blurb says the first batch will be ready in December 2013 with other Kickstart backers waiting until April 2014. Their 3D printer is a long way from realisation, For the sake of backers lets hope their timelines and pricing is right, or it may be another...

Re: How is STARATASYS uPrint Plus compared with the UP! Plus

Hi Regarding: Today, I got a chance to see Objet30, Connex350, Connex 500, Dimension, uPrint Plus and Mojo in action at a machinery exhibition in my country. I got to compare the samples from all the printer and personally for me, the quality of uPrint and Mojo printed object is better than our Up P...

Re: I printed weed-wacker line!

Hi It does sound a bit nasty. Burke, would need to keep your two little green cheek conures away from whipper snipper filament, and everyone should keep it away from any cats, dogs, and kids too. But, my question is: "why would you want to 3D whipper-snipper filament when ABS filament does a perfect...

Hi nutternextdoor and Jamie You are only 160km from each other. That is almost adjoining properties for Aussies. I have driven 300km to attend a BBQ, then 300KM home again. Being so close I am surprised you don't already know each other. Seriously, your son would be the envy of his class mates. Not ...
