Re: PMMA sheet as print bed

Hi, With board you mean a PMMA sheet? or you want to test the wire? Hi Jena67, If it works as you say it does, I would love to test, first the PMMA plate and print myself the QR mount, can I assume there is NO mod done to the base plate it sits on, other than removing the top alloy section? If it c...

UPcooler for Ozzy conditions

Was hot as hell in my printer shed the other day, touched the top of my printer case and it was very hot, ambient temp was 40deg, but I kinda needed to keep printing....not so worried about the stepper as they are cheap, but thought, gee, would hate to cook my main board, as thats the only thing I c...

Re: PLA on the UP

Oh, I thought thats just what you did, as I have been using the ABS setting and just winding down the temp...started doing it with the ecoFlex, to help retraction...after that I tried it with the rest of the rolls I got from you...I did it with the same green ColourFab you have, and its works great ...

Re: What is the realistic maximum model size of the UP Plus?

Usually the objects I am planning to print are quite flat and have the shape of a wide triangle, which would be up to 135mm wide at it's widest point. So do I understand correct that this is no problem at all? great news about the new UP plus 2!! I think you would be fine, also I am happy to drop y...

Re: What is the realistic maximum model size of the UP Plus?

If you could hold the board on with out bolts or clips, you would get the 140x140, but its the fact that the print head hits the bolts or clips when laying raft on larger than 130mm prints...if your raft less, then it gives you a bit more wiggle room....but much over 120mm then you can get in to iss...

Re: Filament coil tangling issue

sometimes the UP can shake so much it can unwind the spool and tangle...try removing the spool from the machine, and running it on the table, via the new spool holder UP has out, please re-test and to see if issue is gone...

filament sticking together is rare...K

Re: Behavior after printing.....

On the new UP printers the table goes down softly on power off. On yours add some rubber or foam on the table so it softens the fall. Quicky for the pro... When dropping the table, should I be worried about BEMF, on the stepper? driving to the board?? I always lower the table slowly to limit the BE...

Re: Gecko like print beds

you say 'gecko like'...will I have the same 'gecko like' issues with heat, as I did the gecko board?? what is different to your boards??

as geco did not stick with no heat...to much heat wrapped the board...the sweet spot as hard to get... thoughts??

Re: WANTED: Motorized filament feeder

the filament feeder, mounted above the filament reel is just a stepper motor sense switch and a microprocessor to determine a fixed number of feeding steps. As filament is pulled by the extruder motor a slight tension at the filament feeder activate a switch which causes the filament feeder stepper...

Re: Print is getting lose from printbed

The key to getting a big prints that warps, and tries to rip itself off the pref board is (using current setup) do in this order: 1. nozzle height, get it close as poss, but not too close that it block the nozzle and skips the extruder stepper. 2. level bed VERY WELL 3. full temp bed, that has a war...

The fact that my unit gets better with each update, says to me, there is more to a 3D printer than just a solid frame and a few steppers...software is so important, thats why I have stuck with the UP....for now...;)

I am on version 2.0, the latest software,

when my print finishes, it only goes down a small set amount, I have to go into maintenance menu and hit 'to bottom' button...to drop tray, I do it EVERY print...need a button on front window...

don't know the work around yet, not sure there is one...K

Re: HELP Nozzle height

a quick and easy setup is to fold a piece of paper, place that between your print nozzle, and the perf board, set gap so paper can slide under, (~0.2mm) then set that as nozzle height...good idea is to heat up bed and nozzle, then set height... then re-test, to see how the raft is laid...gap to smal...

Re: WANTED: Motorized filament feeder

Q for the techs, is it just a stepper motor?? I am trying to find out how much current the filament feeder pulled, if its just a normal stepper motor, like the extruder, if so, I will just test that one...

thx
