Re: Temperature mod gets funky under new software?

I get correct temperature readings now, with and without the mod. I didn't change anything, so your right roller, it's probably misreads by the software.

Re: Standard ABS usage. What to expect?

I have good results with ABS from this supplier: http://www.formfutura.com/175mm-premium ... black.html. Max temperature of this ABS is 256 c, so thats close to the extruding temperature of the up. I do notice that support material is a bit harder to remove, but thats not a real problem.

Temperature mod gets funky under new software?

Hello, It looks to me my temperature mod does not work correctly anymore under the latest software. I've got a 6 ohm resistor connected with a switch, when I activate the switch it should lower the temperature with about 16 degrees. This used to work a few months ago when i printed taulman nylon. Ye...

Re: Two connectors for fans on printhead?

You got a point there, but this would be a nice and clean solution. Is it possible to check the current/ampere of the connector with a multimeter?

Re: Two connectors for fans on printhead?

To bad to hear that, your fan did not work when connecting it to the led connector. I have given it some thought, not sure if I'm right, but I believe the leds on the mini go an after pressing a button. So I think the connector only has voltage after the button on the mini is pressed. Question is ho...

Re: Two connectors for fans on printhead?

Caeser, thanks for clarifying that. If its used to power leds on the mini it should be fine to power a fan. Unfortunately I do not own a multimeter and I also don't have enough knowledge of electronics to correctly check if and which fans can be connected....Hoped someone here already had tested thi...

Two connectors for fans on printhead?

Hello, I have a question about connecting a extra 40mm fan to the printhead. When I look at the circuit board on top of the printhead, I see two identical pin connectors. One on the left and one on the right of the board. The connector on the left connects the standard 40 mm fan. I was wondering, ca...

Re: UP minî ervaringen

Hallo Wim,

Met welk programma heb je je 3d model getekend?

Je moet in ieder geval je bestand als stl exporteren. Meestal staat dit onder bestand en dan exporteren of soms onder bestand en dan opslaan als.

Re: Z level initialisation and clunking

Well normal or not my Up! Plus gives a clunk wjen I initialise. After the clunk the platform and the printerhead move to hit all the limit switches and then beeps to tell its ready. When I de- initialise I all so hear a clunk right after the platform is lowered to the bottom. I belive its somthing t...

Re: Z level initialisation and clunking

That "clunk" during the initialisation is normal as far as I know (mine printer does this from day 1).

You should try and recalibrate by printing and measuring the z calibration print.

Re: BIG PLA Problems

Well my main reason to use PLA is because its a bio plastic and it is supposed to be less toxic then ABS. With the fume cabinet I use the ABS fumes are not that much of a problem any more, but I regard PLA as a safer option. In a little frustration today, I removed all the modification on my extrude...

Re: BIG PLA Problems

Hi Matt, Dont think its friction from the reel, I gave the PLA some loose slack to be sure. I do not print PLA as I found it a nightmare. An observation. I think it is still probable that the PLA is gooing up near the stepper motor. Your observation that you only get a "good" flow of PLA if the plat...

Re: Taulman 618-1.75mm Co-Polymer

Whow 16 ohm? I stopped at 8 ohm because the strenght of the print was about the same as ABS. I now use a 6 ohm resistor for prints with complex support. This gives strong prints and with the support settings set to minimal the support is removable. Parts with little support I print at the regular 26...

Re: BIG PLA Problems

Well I successfully cleaned my nozzel with a blowtorch today. Actually I cleaned it 3 times in a row today. The nozzel is perfectly clean and has a clear opening. Im also able to extrude PLA in a nice staight stream now when I hit the extrude button in the maintenance menu. But as sone as I start a ...

Re: BIG PLA Problems

Hmm I thought because I still can print in ABS that the nozzle was not clogged? Any tips of fixing a PLA clog? Putting the nozzle in acetone wont help. Will heating it up with a solder torch do the trick?

BIG PLA Problems

Hi everyone, I started printing with PLA last weekend and after some extensive testing I have been able to have just 2 completely flawless prints (I use white PLa from Formfutura.com btw http://www.formfutura.com/abs-pla-frosty-white-plastic-3d-printing-filament-1.75mm-3mm/ ) I began printing with a...
