Re: How to get good results with Taulman 618 (DRYING TIPS?!!

Thanks Ismay, I will combine your tip with Ming's tip: Back to original topic ... nylon is a moisture magnet and "saturated" filaments sometimes have big issues adhering. Maybe it needs a little drying. Any good tips on drying Nylon and on how to keep it dry? desicant packs in a vacuum pack (you can...

How to get good results with Taulman 618 (DRYING TIPS?!!!!!)

I would like some tips on how to get good results with Taulman 618. I've ordered 2 spools a few months ago. My first prints, a few gopro mounts, came out nicely (I use a 6 ohm resistor). The surface of the mounts were smooth, only support removal was a bit hard. Later on the quality of the prints we...

Re: A few issues

Hmmm if you printed with OEM fillament I would say you should be able to get better results. Also support removal should be easy. Opening the wind barrier makes support removal easyer, but is should not be necessary when you use OEM fillament. I open it when I use 3e party fillament and it helps for...

Re: Problems with stl model

Your model is not solid, thats why the upper part turns red and does not print. You can run your .stl file through netfabb and repair it https://netfabb.azurewebsites.net/.

Re: Extrude problem clunk clunk clunk clunk

Just a tip for cleaning the nozzle, heat it up with a butantorch (I use a small kitchen torch) and dip it in alcohol a few times. This burns out all the plastic inside the nozzle and cleans it very well. But watch out for fire hazzards! Alcohol burns with a invisible flame, so do this outside and ke...

Re: T-Glase printing

T-glase has a very low melting point, about 207°C. This is even lower then most PLA. As printing PLA on the UP is almost impossible because the hot stepper melts the PLA before entering the hot end, it's most definitely impossible to print T-glase successfully. It explains why extruding stops mid pr...

I might be interested. Is the "sticky" imprint on both sides? And which materials do stick without raft?

Re: Quant 3D is coming ;)

Quant is just a re-branding for the regular UP! printer serie. Just like afinia. They are planning to co-develop industrial printers in the future, probably there will be a lager UP! version to :D. http://news.softpedia.com/news/Californian-and-Chinese-3D-Printing-Companies-Join-Forces-435249.shtml ...

Users must learn & practice proper maintenance procedures associated with the extruder assembly
Hmm, burnt up wires does not sounds like bad maintenance procedures to me and should be under warranty.

Re: Up mini extruder stepper specifications

Very interesting development. Would be awesome If it works effectively and if it is easy to implement, also for the up plus! But i'm wondering, would a longer drive shaft make a big difference? As far as I understand does the heat from the motor travel through the shaft into the gear that drives the...

Re: X-Axis Drifting

Just three remarks that pop in to mind: -Did you do the calibration print and did you enter the measures in the calibration menu? -Does drifting occur with different .stl files (could be its a problem in the .stl file, unlikely but possible). -Don't know how you secure your prefboard (or other print...

Yes, turning support off (in printsettings set support to base only). Or you can rotate your part in a way so that the spacing of the nut does not need support.

Re: routine maintenance list

Clean the nozzle from time to time. I remove the nozzle, heat it up with a butane torch and dip it in alcohol a few times.
By the way, bed level en nozzle height check is something you should do regularly, especially when you get lift.
