Re: Customised extruder feeder design *No Moving Parts*

Ok that sounds good :). Today I wanted to print and install Eurisko84's extruder design to exploit the penclip mod. Im unable to print PLA because the stepper gear keeps slipping. But I ran into a problem, I noticed that the setup of my extruder head is different from the pictures I see in this foru...

Re: Customised extruder feeder design *No Moving Parts*

I'm running the new version with the very hot motor too. The air feed line on the top is designed to take a silicon tube and to be connected to a cheap air pump for a fish tank (see below). Its less than 20 bucks, and the silicon hose is flexible and can be routed around the machine. This will prov...

Re: Customised extruder feeder design *No Moving Parts*

Would a 120 mm fan apply enough airpressure/air flow to puh air through a short hose into the air feed line on top of the extruder? To connect the hose to the fan you could print an adpter.

You could cut off the top border in the stl file with netfabb studio basic!

Re: Printer goes mad after completion - possible netfabb .st

You could try netfabb studio basic ( http://www.netfabb.com/download.php ) instead of the cloud service. I use it all the time to repaire and cut stl's and to convert files to stl. Works fine for me :)

Re: Up! plus fume cabinet

Good suggestion, but I've not been able to find a clear case with this dimensions, only this nice purple  .
But it's not a problem, I can monitor the print from above. The top of the cabinet (ea the bottom of the box) is made of clear plastic so you can look through it.

Re: Support material not sticking to perfboard

Yes larger parts do tend to warp and lift up on the edges more. You can prevent this with minimizing drafts and preheating the platform. You also should close the windbarrier.

You could try the PLA fillament of form futura. Scubamatt has uses this fillament on his up mini with good results. I have yet to trie it on my up plus.

Re: Up! plus fume cabinet

Thanks, I've tested this setup for the last few weeks with some big prints as well (6 to 8 hour prints) and it works very effective. No more nasty fumes, no worries for drafts and I dont have to heatup the attic as much as I used to.
