Re: Full layers not meeting edges in 1.4 (presumably 1.18 to

Is this the underside? I have tried 1.4 and 1.18 but I settled on 1.18 as it seemed to give me better results.

Re: Static shock from Mini + Connectivity issue

This sounds like a few things. I am not sure if this is what has happened here. If it was static on from you. The case should most definitely be grounded and should be diverted harmlessly away but once again its hard to tell. Could potentially be a bad power supply. Usually means it is not properly ...

Re: Filament and Suppliers

Yes the poor english doesn't help, but posting in every thread about your request for temperature control isn't really necessary. His listing of all the filaments, their costs and suppliers is appreciated. But the complaint about the temperature control really isn't necessary here. Its been posted e...

Re: Filament and Suppliers

If the machine is as they say it is a machine for software professionals should be commensurate with the publicity, and I want a real machine and not an artifact like Reprap toy. Let's see if you really can or not. This is spam. Not on topic. Not related to anything else posted here. If I was a mod...

Re: Yet another fan housing

You can modify the part to make it easier to print. If you can eliminate the really big long strips it will make it easier. This vid is a good description of the idea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhfrHo53K18 I was printing some robot shells which were ~ 100mmx 70mm and adding a heap of holes aro...

Re: Nasty things in 1.4 for Mac

To avoid this I just manually extracted the archive and dragged it into my applications folder. If its causing issues I would suggest doing this. There is two packages inside the higher level package, up and example, the Up one contains the software and example the other files. Just extract them and...

Cool. Saw your stuff a while back and was going to try it. Unfortunately bricked my router.

So now need to unbrick it first then I can actually do it. :P

Re: TOTAL TEMPERATURE CONTROL [FEATURE REQUEST]

I wonder where the temp value is stored. They obviously have to send it somewhere to switch between PLA and ABS. Could prolly reverse engineer the protocol. I worked out the layer number in status message a while back from raw USB data but didn't pursue it any further. Maybe we could intercept the s...

Re: Do I need to swap nozzle PLA / ABS?

Lol if a replacement "CPU" wasn't $1000AUD and motherboard $300AUD (AKA more than a new up mini) I could prolly do it. But it was a lot easier to just shove a bit of foam in the piezo. Oh it would have to be done from disassembling the code. They are never going to send you the firmware source. But ...

Re: TOTAL TEMPERATURE CONTROL [FEATURE REQUEST]

Probably not going to happen. As long as they bring out a PLA filament which works as well as the ABS one then I am happy enough without temp control. There is two reasons why I don't think this will every happen. Firstly the obvious one is it locks you into using their filament. The second less obv...

Re: Filament and Suppliers

Well I have heard that all of the "Value ABS" range is complete rubbish so not really keen to keep it. Pretty obvious its not legit. I bought their aftermarket high temp stuff and it really didnt work very well at all, I gave them feed back on this but really didn't care as it was aftermarket cheap ...

Re: Filament and Suppliers

So roller just opened my plastic I ordered from bilby over christmas one black, one white. Seems they have tried to pull the same deal on be with the "Black Jack" plastic. Not sure if its worth making an issue of. But probably wouldn't order from Bilby again. Might as well pay the few extra $$ and g...

Re: Calibration

I agree there is no way they would test every printer. But if you tested say 5-10 from the initial batch and the values were different to the theoretical movement (steps * belt pitch or whatever) I would think you would apply the average correction. But as you said they may not bother, or you might ...

Re: Calibration

Yep it sounds like what I expected. From 3. Onwards would always result in the same part. If it works how I said. So the printer assumes you reset it. Then when you print you put in the values and it adjusts the print. From 3 onwards you haven't reset so the software assumes you are just retrying to...

I was wondering what silicone you used. I have been looking at Sellys Engineering 401 Silicone but its only rated to 205C.

Re: Calibration

Ok so I assume that we should reset. Then print then calibration. Input new values. Apply. Then reprint to test makes sense. I assume the calibration procedure assumes that you have reset your printer before printing the calibration part so its always at the stock factory settings. Otherwise it woul...
