Re: Ideas for software temperature control.

@Mr6K lol yeh not gunna happen. They are working towards your inkjet printer model. @Rootz while I do realise the Up Mini still isn't perfect, it is still by far the best printer on the market. That's right better than Up Plus IMO. But anyway back on topic. Think I will try and do some SD card dumps...

Ideas for software temperature control.

As we all know we are probably never going to get temperature control on our UP! printers. I have done the resistor mod and I could extend this to a pot if I wanted but ever since I got mine I have been thinking about ways which we could potentially achieve adjustable temperature from software contr...

Re: Poor customer service from Bilby CNC

For me they have generally been fine. $60/roll for white genuine UP filament is best price I have found in Aus. I can't say I have ever tried to get in touch with them by phone and I did have to return my black non-genuine filament but they sent me another roll of white and a repaid bag to send the ...

Re: Up! Mini - Extruder temperature mod

Finally did this today. And the results with generic filament are almost flawless. Its still not quite as good as pp3dp stuff but for the price you can't argue. In Australia I am finding it hard to get rolls for < $65 (after postage) so when I can get $40 filament which is 1kg not 700g its hard to s...

Re: [BUG REPORT] Uneven vertical prints

Should sleep more before posting.

Mini doesn't even have lead screw. Which leads me to think of bent motor shafts.

Check that.

Re: [BUG REPORT] Uneven vertical prints

Have a look and see if this is the same pitch as the lead screw on the Z axis. If the screw is bent it can put pressure on the plate moving it slightly left or right as it moves up layers.

This could have happened in transport. Would suggest warranty claim.

Re: [BUG] Rafts overlapping

Thanks for the merge trick. Works well.

However I still think this counts as a bug and could be relatively easily fixed.

@Drew not really possible to go raftless on mini. Bed doesn't get hot enough but perfboard works fine.

[BUG] Rafts overlapping

If you print lots of small objects close to each other. The software overlaps the rafts which it generates instead of printing one big raft. This causes the overlapping parts to be significantly higher than the center. This should either throw an error or print a single raft for all the items. This ...

Re: Pla problems

@ Oral Have you managed to get it to extrude any of the PLA? It may be necessary to extrude slightly at a higher temp (ABS setting) to start off with to clear any of the left over ABS out of the nozzle. If you try and extrude with PLA setting it may be too cold for the left over ABS to flow. And cou...

Re: Wireless 3D printing to the Up!

I got annoyed at having the adapter so here is some pictures of how I connected it to the mini. So here is the 5V http://i1113.photobucket.com/albums/k510/s_martin87/th_A64BC136-4848-44D2-B995-3C886BDC2CEB-132-0000000120F38105_zps33b9411f.jpg I made up two connectors http://i1113.photobucket.com/alb...

Re: Wireless 3D printing to the Up!

I believe my macbook has internet sharing enabled. Why would this be an issue? Wouldn't that just be it sharing internet over its local network. (ethernet to wifi) Only other router is my actual one which I hope is sharing internets.

Re: Wireless 3D printing to the Up!

@maddox any insight as to why my router would be pingable on both wireless and wired IPs when its plugged in to ethernet but as soon as you unplug that it isn't pingable on the wireless? Also I found a nice 5V header on the motherboard which is unused. I wonder how much power this draws and whether ...

Re: TOTAL TEMPERATURE CONTROL [FEATURE REQUEST]

I very much doubt it would be a hardware controlled setting. For a few reasons. 1. They were able to add in PLA support in the firmware. 2. If there was any changes in the filament formula they would be unable to tweak it. 3. If there was any hardware changes they would be unable to tweak the PID lo...

UP! Mini Cable Guide/Enclosure sealer.

http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:44779

This stops my cable rubbing on the edge of the mini and hopefully will keep in more heat.

And I am wireless. Well sort of, it still has LAN connection but wooo.

Any ideas if the USB connector supplies power? If so should probably try and power it off that.

Re: Full layers not meeting edges in 1.4 (presumably 1.18 to

As I use work in solidworks this isn't a big deal for me. Inside vm on mac of course.

I would assume a common code base but 1.18 vs 1.4 sorta makes me think it isn't.

Would be good to have an official work on this.
