Interesting. Feels like only a few years ago CAD on the mac was virtually non-existant.
Anyway those Apps all have their crazy own GUI, so it usually doesn't matter what OS you run them on.

Re: WORKING: SOFTWARE TEMP MOD - ADJUSTABLE LAYER HEIGHTS !

Yeah true.
But I am used to professional software and especially when it comes to CAD and electronics, a mac won't get you very far…

Re: WORKING: SOFTWARE TEMP MOD - ADJUSTABLE LAYER HEIGHTS !

1st layer goes down fine, and then it prints well but the Bottom will not release from the print! and also when i change the temps it says my nozzle is to cold That one corner came off - so you are ALMOST there :-) It's really just a balance between too hot and too cold - for each layer-type. Make ...

Re: WORKING: SOFTWARE TEMP MOD - ADJUSTABLE LAYER HEIGHTS !

The problem with those super thin layers is that the nozzle is too big I think.
If I go too thin, he smears too much, the surface gets kinda ugly.
But I guess tinkering with the parameters could solve some of those problems.

Or replace it with a cable tie for now.
then print the spare, install it and print a second, more accurate spare ;-)

Re: How to determine the correct PAUSE height…

OK it has been solved. Thanks to JuliaBee for the prompt help! The PAUSE HEIGHT refers to absolute model height, measured from the first object layer, excluding raft. Example: You have a 10mm cube that you want to pause 3/4 to the top - so you enter 7.5 in the PAUSE HEIGHT. MAKE SURE TO USE A DECIMA...

They should really have a proper manual for this software. And maybe release a bugfixed version at some point…

Re: 1.19 Software

Remember you do not have to worry about the raft, the software takes that into account automatically. Just measure from the bottom of the part in your CAD software. Ah OK, so if I have lets say 1.4mm base and 0.7mm on top of that I enter 1.4mm into the pause option? Thought that would refer to the ...

Re: 1.19 Software

But how do you determine the EXACT height to pause at? I just asked about that here… http://www.pp3dp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=54817 It seems that approximate values will not do the job. Counting layers would work great for me since I print mostly flat objects :-) Also i noticed that there mig...

How to determine the correct PAUSE height…

I just tried to figure out how to stop my print at a certain layer to switch colors and then resume printing. Using v 2.13 I was planning to observe the "current height" in the maintainance window. But it turns out that during printing it does not show any fractional numbers. 121.3mm becomes 121mm. ...

Re: 1.19 Software

I think Pause at Height was added in 1.19. Note that the number(s) you enter are in millimeters, not layers, so plan accordingly. Yeah tried to use it yesterday and it's a mess. Why wouldn't they just give us "stop at layer no. XY"? But anyhow… How do I calculate those heights? I would have to take...

Re: WORKING: SOFTWARE TEMP MOD - ADJUSTABLE LAYER HEIGHTS !

Well I just made a simple model with dimensions that would tightly fit a aluminum rod inside, so I could see how far temperature affects size deviation. But mainly I had to find a setting to use 3rd party PLA without too much jamming and removeable raft. Then I printed that object 10 times - first w...

Re: Nozzle not heating

The bed temperature is just "guessed". The Mini's bed has a heater and an automatic switch that disconnects power to the heater at 60°C and reconnects it at about 57°C (hysteresis, to prevent rapid switching / swing). So what the printer does is heat the platform for some minutes, then assume its ho...

Re: WORKING: SOFTWARE TEMP MOD - ADJUSTABLE LAYER HEIGHTS !

I personally like the UP! supports, then on the other hand I don't have a lot to compare it to. After I finally get my PLA extruder-mod (having a new aluminum filament-guide with vents milled), hopefully that problem will be solved and with some temperature-tinkering the support will rip off easily....

Re: Extrude problem clunk clunk clunk clunk

Take note that normal thermal compound is not suitable for the hight temperatures in the hotend. I did a little research on that stuff and none of the CPU stuff really fits the picture. There are some highend pastes for industrial use and I heard that you can use Kapton - it will kinda disintegrate ...
