Successful Prints With Laywoo Filament on UP Plus 2!

Hey guys, I posted a little while ago about whether or not the UP Plus 2 could print well with Laywoo filament. I tried it for the first time tonight (After having it for over 2 months), and I was extremely impressed. I printed it at 190C on the ABS setting and it went very smoothly without any clog...

UP Enclosure

Hey guys, I just wanted to share an enclosure that I put together for my UP Plus 2. I downloaded the design from thingiverse here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:78074 and I cut it out of Acrylic using a laser cutter. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a low cost solution for an en...

I used picture frame glass, seems to be OK.
Is it able to withstand the 100C temperatures of the heated bed?

Re: Printing Laywoo on an UP?

FYI " When you print Laywoo 3D on the mini at ABS setting, it looks more like plastic rather than wood. But when you print it with the PLA setting it looks like MDF. Sort of woody effect without the typical wood structure, just one color. I guess it will work on the your UP plus 2. When you use the...

Re: Octave's new temperature switches

Wow. I'm so happy that they are releasing this. Do you guys think it's worth it to get the 64 position switch? or would it be recommended to stick with the standard 8 position one?

Re: 3D Printer Enclosure from Octave

I have two questions. 1. Is it compatible with the UP Plus 2? 2. With the enclosure, does it smell during printing? Thanks. I'm wondering this as well. I just laser cut an enclosure for my printer yesterday, but I don't think it contains the fumes very well. I'll probably make a new post detailing ...

I'm thinking of picking up some glass for my UP Plus as well. Could I use regular picture frame glass for this? It's quite the hassle to find Borosilicate glass locally.

Re: Printing Laywoo on an UP?

I print on glass with a temp mod from: http://www2.artaylor.co.uk/pp3dp.html If you check my posts an the phone covers I make you will find 2 I made with the light cherry. Do you think that it's worth the cost? That's pretty expensive for a temperature mod. I've considered buying it before, but I h...

Re: Printing Laywoo on an UP?

Hey Matt, I would very interested in buying one of your sheets. I was actually thinking about this a couple of weeks ago, but I couldn't figure out how to contact you. I'm not really used to how this forum works so I'm not sure how to send PMs. Maybe you could send me a PM? or contact me through my ...

Printing Laywoo on an UP?

Hey Guys, I recently bought some Laywoo filament, but I'm still too nervous to try it on my UP Plus 2. I have an octave temperature switch, but I'm assuming that I would be better off trying it on the PLA setting? Also, I'm assuming that Laywoo filament needs to be printed on glass rather than the p...

I'm assuming that the walls around the model were printed to prevent drafts.
