Re: Up! Mini - Extruder temperature mod

I didnt use connectors (but that would be better). I used standard 2.54mm breakaway pins (male and female resp. like the ones used on arduino shields if you are familiar with thoose)

Re: Filament tangles on the roll

Yes, for roles having holes that works fine, and for the role swithout pre-made holes I use my clips...

(Pardon me for the grammar in my previous post.
Using 'double negatives' and a multi-OR statement wasn't the best way of describing it....
it must have been late or something  ....)

Re: Wish List

The Up! Mini printer actually sends the layer number it's printing via USB back to the host and windows software displays it correctly in the Windows 1.18 version, but the remaining time seems to be a gueastimate ;-)

Re: Filament tangles on the roll

My fifty cents is to never let the filament not been either fixed to the machine, holding the end with your hands or using a "filament clip" (like http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:39900) while storing the rolls and it shouldn't happend :-)

Re: New UP! Mini user. Nozzle not working and platform dropp

A loose cable to the Z stepper motor perhaps? Would make it to fall and hit the switch which probably disables everything....

Re: Vapour Bath with Acetone

I'm high on the fumes after tonights experiments ;-(

Tested with aceton heated in a pot with some test parts inside and a lid. I was surprised that a few seconds was enough to get a nice finnish. Still have to come up with clever ideas to hold the items to get minimum footprint from marks.

Re: Support material not sticking to perfboard

Hi,

Hard to see from that angle in a slightly blurry picture but my guess would be that the nozzle wasn't close enough the board for the first layer.

Re: Windows 8 support

And perhaps an upgrade from 1.17 to 1.18 will work fine for you. Thats likely the path I took as 1.18 didn't exist at that time.

Re: Up! Mini - Extruder temperature mod

The inbuilt fan is insufficient for most PLA especially through the windbarrier
I have only tested PLA a few times. What would be the main difference/benefit with an extra fan?

Re: FreeCad users?

Hi, Yes I do and I like it very much for engineering parts. I use FreeCad mostly, but sometimes Google sketchup which is quicker for idea sketching and assemblies, but after modelling there I typically redraw it in FreeCAD where constrains is the answer of all questions :-) I quickly looked on the u...

Re: Windows 8 support

Hi,

I have been running Windows 8 and Up 1.18 since several months and it is working fine!
Don't recall but I believe it was unsigned drivers that was providing slightly out-of-the-box-experience but once drivers is installed it's working great
- just to cheer you up a little bit :)

Re: FEATURE REQUEST: Table preheat on/off toggle+timer short

I found what I believe ts the most comprehensive topic for feature requests after your advice to look in the "Up Plus" structure. So i appended my new proposals to that thread (where I realize I had already been active and added suggestions before but forgot about!). http://www.pp3dp.com/forum/viewt...
