Re: Recreus direct fit hot end for Afinia/Up Plus

Drew,
It was thanks to your posts and comments about Recreus that I started looking at them and eventually found this custom part advertised, which is by the way, nothing but what you did with their regular hot end.
Thank you for all you do!
Gonzalo.

Re: Polycarbonate print platform

Try PEI sheets. It has an amber color, comes glossy like glass or Lexan, I sanded 1 side with 400 grit because I prefer a matte finish. It sticks as good as lexan, but, temperature DOES make a difference, so when you let the part cool down completely it just pops off the PEI sheet! With Lexan I have...

Recreus direct fit hot end for Afinia/Up Plus

I installed the new Recreus hot end on my Afinia. It is a direct fit, no other mods required. The beauty is that the hot end comes with a ptfe lined barrel which allows (with a temp mod) to print PLA... I must say that I do have other mods going on, I replaced the extruder fan with a higher cfm 20mm...

Re: HIPS filament experience

Hi uppers, I am an Afiniac! I am working thru my first roll of HIPS, and yes I agree it works great. I am using "cool gray" from prototype supply that is esun Chinese filament rebranded for USA. Bought at Amazon.com. It is cheap, but it seems to be of great quality, I have had no warping and no lift...

Re: Polycarbonate Plate and Clips System

Hi, I was using Lexan that is the same as PC. Great for pla and hit and miss for abs; if the distance to the nozzle is too low then it will bond so strong that it will not come off. If it is too far or if it is not PERFECTLY level then the part will lift and warp. I am now using PEI, you will find i...

Re: Up Plus Platform leveling issue

I have the same issue, I put a little aluminum foil wedge between the black heater core and the actual aluminum platform.. You will notice it is secured with 2 screws. Just find the right place to put it and then use the tightening pressure of the screws to "force" level it.
