Filament Oozing / Stringing from Extruder Nozzle

Hi, Recently I have run into a weird issue. After a (rare because I route filament through a bit of foam) nozzle clog, I exchanged the nozzle to a brand new original one. Now, the Filament oozes out of the nozzle after extruding or withdrawing quite a bit for 10-20 seconds. Before, it stopped right ...

Re: Up Studio - print quality issues

Hi Elaine,

thanks for your reply. It happens with pretty much any model,
the material is the Genuine Tiertime UP ABS 700g spool in black.

Kind Regards
Frederic

Up Studio - print quality issues

Hi all, today I updated from UP 2.15 to UP Studio x64 2.2.61.62 for use with my UP Plus 2. I carefully set all settings (those that aren't stored in the printer itself and have transferred automatically) to the same values and printed a few parts. I Immediately noticed very bad print quality, and ha...

Very weird model shift issue

Hi all, after quite a while of happy printing and producing parts I have encountered a weird issue with model shift. An STL file, that I have printed many many times before, suddenly exhibited a shift in the Y axis of about 8mm at a rather high layer (about 96mm height), after almost 9 hours of prin...

Re: Quant 3D is coming ;)

I don't think you need to wait that long (well, it's only two days now anyway...) Google finds this ;) http://www.techconsystems.com/quant3d/english/globalnavigation/home I didn't look into the details, but for now, the Q150 and Q200 look just like branded versions of the UP Mini and UP Plus 2 to me.

Re: "printer is disconnected" USB connection problem. Please

Hi, having seen your other thread, it does sound a lot like a dead CPU. Probably best to contact your local retailer or pp3dp if it's still under warranty. If not, I guess you could try to return it to the seller, since it's clearly defective, and if the description didn't mention that it's a fraud ...

Re: Up Plus 2 just damaged itself

Hey Baxter888, I wrote some more info in http://pp3dp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4619. I can confirm, that the cable is probably crap, and it is likely that it caused the nozzle height detect to fail as mentioned above. On my sesond UP, when I tried the nozzle height detect and autolevel sensors...

Re: "printer is disconnected" USB connection problem. Please

Hi Peter, CE conformity was one of the first things that came to my mind as well, when I heard PP3DP's answer about known recent ESD issues. It's rather interesting in that respect that your UP does not bear a CE-Label. The UP Plus 2, at least the ones delivered to me from the German retailer do bea...

Re: "printer is disconnected" USB connection problem. Please

Thanks for sharing this!! With my new 2nd printer (and #1 when it comes back from repair), I take the following precautions: First and most importantly, I only ever touch the printer when properly grounded using an ESD wristband grounded to a properly grounded metal body or the grounding pin of a po...

Re: Misaligned print layers

That sounds logical, as it fits the mentioned suggestion that in the z-axis something is rubbing against a screw, only that it's not a screw but the flange.

I'll check my #1 UP when it gets back, and will report.

Thanks!

Re: Misaligned print layers

Right now I can only speak for the second UP, but that one does not suffer from this exact problem. It did however display nasty, big skips on all axes during the first test print. I checked for interfering screws, none. BUT: I suspected the perfboard slipping (which was more loose on this one than ...

Re: Exporting objects with Threads

The other option is (since sadly not all CAD software offers such a nice addon - have yet to find one for solidworks, and it has always bothered me that such a professional software doesn't offer a standard option to convert cosmetic threads to real ones) to actually find the screw dimensions in for...

Re: Misaligned print layers

Thanks for these great suggestions Drew and wackojacko! I'll do both and report the findings. That is, once I get my self-destroyed printer back :( . In the meantime, because I was told my UP would he gone for 2-4 weeks, I was forced to buy a second UP 2 Plus, which just arrived and I'll check it fo...

Re: Up Plus 2 just damaged itself

Well whatever it is, the German Distributor noDNA just told me -by email, as I said, no phone support- I will need to send it in, and it will take them 2-4 weeks to repair it! :o They say chinese new year is preventing them from doing anything. Wow, thats why I paid a few hundred $ extra and got it ...

The way I see it, judging by the round surfaces being misaligned all the way round, both X and Y.

Thanks for any help!

Up Plus 2 just damaged itself

Just when I really started to love it, my UP decided to self destruct. Its only 2 weeks old... First, during a Nozzle Height detect the platform just kept going after the switch made contact and crashed into the nozzle with 2 audible clicks of the belt jumping. It reported 139mm Nozzle Height ...

Re: Misaligned print layers

Hi, I just discovered something similar (though not remotely as severe) on my prints. Posting it here since the symptoms are similar, probably misaligned layers, and only the bottom few mm of parts are concerned. The bottom about 5mm of any print has significantly inferior print quality than anythin...

Hi from Munich, Germany =)

Just wanted to say hi to you guys! I've had my UP for a few days now and am absolutely loving it! Using it mostly to design and manufacture special parts for camera gear and it already helped solve a lot of problems. So far I have spent many hours (far too many that I should have used to sleep =) re...
