Something different rc outboard motor
Something different rc outboard motor
Thought I'd try something different for a change. Need a better scale motor so drew this completely from scratch.
Hope to test it this weekend if all goes to plan.

Update, disappointed at first but swapped out the cheap 12V can for a decent 7V motor as it is a 2 cell system. Nothing was water cooled but nothing got particularly warm. Only used 500mah out of 2100, more than enough performance for what I want.
More setting up and testing to do.
Cheers

Still to be smoothed and painted. This is raw off the printer.

Re: Something different rc outboard motor
Well it's all pretty much done. Very happy with the result. Boat has a ton of acceleration as you can see in this vid and plenty of speed.

Pretty darn cool for something developed from nothing and "printed"
Now I'll add some more detail and then it'll no doubt be locked away in daughters doll house never to see the water again.
Never mind. It was a lot of fun developing, testing and then watching the progress of the boat speed up and handle better.
Bit of time at the waterways with some friends who were also testing some experimental stuff.
well worth the effort.
Cheers

You are the best in this work , congratulations !.
Re: Something different rc outboard motor
Very nice. It took me a minute to find the steering servo but I see it now.
Re: Something different rc outboard motor
Yes, pity about that but will get longer flex and place out of sight in the bow as it needs more weight forward anyway. Then all controls will be hidden.
Originally had it under the floor but that just proved a confounded nuisance with wires all over the place.
Thanks for all the complements

Re: Something different rc outboard motor
Just a little update.
updated the shape to better reflect the real motor.
Very much harder to draw than the original square motor but I think much more aesthetically pleasing.

Hey Glen, in the processes of making a evinrude mode for a scale goldfish 23 tender. Could you be so kind to supply the parts list for the hardware?
