I also took the opportunity to install 2 IKEA LED light strips that I had laying around, the lack of light while printing was really bugging me since I bought it (the work area where I have it at doesn't have the best ambient light).
So as I mentioned after looking at other threads and seeing there were a few ports I could use from the board I decided to go ahead and do it was cleanly as possible, to my surprise when I opened it up the port had no pins (so just the wholes in the board) on a lucky moment I had some spare header pins laying around which I was able to use.
So here's a list of what I used:
- 2 IKEA LED strips (they where part of a bigger kit for which I only used 2, and came with the connectors + flat cable).
1 100C NC Temperature Controller Thermostat KSD-01F 250VAC/ 24VDC 1.5A(I have 4 extra so if you're interested PM me I can send you one for free).
1 Phobya 3-Pin x 4 Fan Cable Splitter (Used this two connect the 2 LED strips to one of the Fan 12Volts ports available on the board)
About 10 Pin headers I had a strip laying around

Complete Album http://imgur.com/a/IkKyA (sorry but adding that many images to the thread is a real pain).
I also printed some clips:

This will hide/route the cable from the bottom of the bed all the way to the top where the switch is in case anyone is interested I'll be more than happy to upload them to thing verse.
And also printer the temps so I known which one is selected, middle is OFF.
To sum final results:

Hope you'll find it useful and feel free to leave any comments.
