UP BOX+ 3D printer is an extended version of UP BOX. Since the launch of the UP BOX, we have listened carefully to our customers’ feedback, and made changes to meet their needs. The UP BOX+ features Tiertime’s latest innovations based on our expertise and understanding of the ever-evolving, 3D printing industry. Together with the newly launched UP Studio Software, UP BOX+ offers new functionality unique to the 3D printing market.

Major upgrades includes:

1. Connectivity Enhancement

UP BOX+ comes with WiFi support. Users can use the iOS-based Mac, iPhone, or iPad to control and print their favorite models. No longer is a laptop or host computer necessary.

2. Better Filament Support

We’ve opened options for 3rd party’s filament use. With UP Studio Software, users can now define profiles for specific filament types by setting both nozzle and build plate temperatures. Fine tuning for most filament is now possible. UP BOX+ has now been updated to accommodate bigger filament reels up to 1KG.

3. Critical Operational Assurance Infrastructure

Power Loss Mitigation:

Sudden power-loss due to cord-issues or power-outages, can ruin a print, leading to hours of lost time and wasted filament. With UP BOX+, this problem is no longer an issue. Once the power is back on, UP BOX+ will ask user if s/he wants to resume the stopped print job, and finishes it seamlessly.

Filament Run-out Mitigation:

Large print jobs are prone to running-out of filament before the job is complete, especially when left un-attended, or left to run overnight. With the UP BOX+, the print job will automatically pause if filament is out. After the filament is reloaded, the print job can be resumed.

Other great features that UP BOX+ inherits from UP BOX include:

Big build volume: 255x205x205mm, or 10x8x8in
HEPA Filter: Reduce the fume generated during the printing process.
Auto Leveling: Users are free from the hassle of platform leveling and nozzle height detection.
For the UP BOX user, do not feel left out. We have prepared the upgrade kit, so you can enjoy the most of the great features that UP BOX+ has.

The splash page of the site talks about the CPU upgrade kit but still no details about cost/where to get it. When will these details be available?

I also read somewhere (cant find it now to link) that the extruder had been upgraded to take more filaments, is this the case (or was I just dreaming) and if so is it compatible with the original Up Box?

Hi,

The CPU upgrade is the next big upgrade across the board, and the detail is coming very soon. Eventually you can buy from your local distributors, or buy directly from up3d.com.

UP BOX+ has new design of filament cap, and it can hold 1KG filament. For the old UP BOX, it could be upgraded and we will have an instruction coming up soon.

Thank you

Joseph

After seeing the new splash screen, I started hunting around.. The "How to" posted at https://www.up3d.com/blog/?p=307 was nice, but I wanted to order it now. Was about to give up and then found the upgrade kit listed for sale on the USA Up Online Store (linked to in Joseph's signature - http://www.up3dusa.com/copy-of-up-box-1) - and on sale no less.

The page notes "BIG SALE!!! Only spend $50 to get the upgrade kit values $400... The Upgrade Kit is only $50 during the 2016 Holiday Season. Limited time and quantity!! FIRST COME FIRST SEVERED".

I placed an order - now that I re-read "first come first severed", I may start sleeping with one eye open :D
