I can’t get even a flat model to print without a raft

Post by rslaufer » Wed Jan 02, 2019 7:02 pm

I am very new to 3D printing.

The first few simple prints worked great without a raft, but after the first few I noticed that the nozzle was pulling the printed filament off the base and the thin filaments started to ball up.

I tried to calbrate it manually at all 9 points, but that didn’t seem to help.

Rafts are being printed without any problem, but I see a lot of Youtube videos that can print without rafts, and they can be a waste of material and annoying to pull off.

Any suggests?

Thanks.

Hi
We suggest users to print with raft for a better print result,
after several times printing, the plate maybe not leveling perfectly due to the scraps left on the surface, with a raft can make the first layer well leveled and to make the model more flat.
So a raft it important for the prints

These printers are pretty expensive and the software allows the raft to be turned off. The also have 9 point bed calibration. If far cheaper machines can print raftless as standard then TT should be able to as well.
