UP Mini 2, initializing stepper motor issues

Post by floridaprints3d » Fri Jan 20, 2017 9:15 pm

When I attempt to initialize the printer, the stepper motor begins a loud clicking. It is trying to lower the build plate when it cannot. Is there any way to resolve this issue.

You can check the Z-axis limit switch.

I had this very same problem on my up mini 2 after one day, and again 5 days later. What I do is turn the unit off and manually raises the build plate platform than let it lower it’s self without clicking the limit switch in. After that I can initialize and print.

Hi. I've just recently purchased an UP Plus 2 printer. For the first few days, everything was printing perfectly. However, a few days ago my printer stopped printing. The stepper motor appears to have stopped working. The PLA filament is not being pushed down, towards the nozzle. I have checked to make sure that the nozzle is not clogged and that the ribbon cable is securely plugged in. After beginning a print, the the printer begins moving as it normally should, except that no plastic is coming out of the nozzle. Essentially it is just printing air. How can I fix this problem? Can anyone help? I'm new to 3d printing. Thanks.

Hi,
I konw that the nozzle is not clogged,But can you please make sure if the printer can extrude the filament before you print models? this can exclude some possibility.

I have the same issue with the extruder stepper motors. Bought 2 new machines for school and they work great for a bit now they won't feed and material. Any thoughts on what is wrong. All connections look good. Is this a software issue maybe? Still waiting for a response from tiertime.
