Flexible materials

Post by steelmans » Fri Jan 15, 2016 6:07 pm

I have just tried PolyFlex material on my UP BOX as it is supposed to work much better on most printers than the usual flexible materials. It started printing well but then started extruding intermittently and jamming. I think the problem might be the teflon filament tube leaning over as the print head moves around, basically folding the filament and not allowing it to run smooth.

Has anyone else used PolyFlex or other flexible materials on the UP BOX?

We have had pretty good results with PolyFlex.

If you do not have a temp controller use the ABS Spool Setting. Start with thicker Resolutions like 0.30
Print Raftless. Try increasing the Nozzle Height compared to using ABS
Experiment with the Fan Open.

We did find that drag on the filament does cause what you are experiencing.
We built a simple Overhead Spool Holder that sits on top of the UP Box with the UP Box Lid Open.
We do not use the feeder tube.

If you want to use the feeder tube try unspooling filament to eliminate spool drag.
