Cheap Vapour Smoothing Cookers (Warrington Area)

Post by Darryn » Sun Feb 24, 2013 1:20 pm

Hi there,

Just thought id give you lot a heads up on a recent purchase of mine. Ive seen quite a few forums and blogs that mention and show Vapour smoothing setups and they seem to work very well, so I decided id try and build my own. Yesterday whilst browsing the QVC Outlet store at Birchwood near Warrington I spotted a big pile of These being sold for £20 each, initial results with the model suspended from the lid and a cap full of acetone poured in and boiled under pressure for 2mins are promising and im going to experiment with different duration, temperatures and amounts of acetone and maybe even a acetone/water mix to slow down the evaporation rate and better control the results.

Ill get some before and after photos up when I start getting results, and if i dont blow myself up or accidentally poison myself first. :)

Darryn.

I would be very very careful if you are heating Acetone, it is highly inflammable. Also I would check that the materials used in the cooker are not dissolved by Acetone.

cheers

Peter
