Anyone in the NewYork Area
It'll be nice to be able to join in a Google hang out and share tips about printing and what not to do. Both on UP plus printers and Minis.
Best practices
Basics on positioning for better prints
PLA
What are good objects to print on like acrylic for Minis
Things of that nature.

Re: Anyone in the NewYork Area
I'm in BK and work in the city, have an Up! Plus and a CNC Mill thats been taking up all my time recently.
Re: Anyone in the NewYork Area
Awesome we should meet up sometime I'm getting my printer soon maybe around January, developing figures.
How is your Up Plus prints coming along as well as your milling machine. What do you work on at the moment if you don't mind me asking?
I live in BK and work in the city as well, always working on 3d for work and my own personal work as well. Thinking of learning Solidworks or Inventor I like them both but just get frustrated with it's constraining way of modeling. I like SpaceClaim and Inventor fusion best I've seen for a person wanting to dabble in 3d for manufacturing but have a basis in polygon modeling.

Re: Anyone in the NewYork Area
I am in orange county, which is about 50 miles nw of nyc and would like to meet up and share tips and such. Google hang out is a good idea for starting out so it requires no traveling effort. Then perhaps we can plan meetups and events.
Re: Anyone in the NewYork Area
I agree in the upcoming month I'll most likely be getting the Up Mini and it would be great to first try out Google Hang out first, then as we get to know each other we can schedule meet ups.
NYC internet Meetup
Had our first Google Hangout /Skype meetup, went well met up with Ftdesigns. Spoke about printers workflows and software and the future status of 3d printing. I encourage anyone in the NYC,New Jersey and Connecticut area to join in.
Re: Anyone in the NewYork Area
I use solidworks pretty much exclusively now, for CAM is use HSMworks.
I'm working on all sorts of things, but my main project will stay under wraps until I gather the will and time to write up a patent application.

Hi,
I live an work in Long Island.
We have large CNC router for efficient manufacturing plastic parts for our products.http://www.yurex.com
We use mostly 3mm and 6mm ABS sheets. We are trying to get in 3d manufacturing and service and we started using 3d printers for prototyping.
We have 1.75mm abs filament too. http://yurex.com/3d_filament/default.html

Hello, kinda late here but is anyone still kickin' around? I am from the Albany area, and will be trying to get to the 3-D Printing Conference this April 10th to the 12th. Did anyone setup a hangout? What materials have you had success with? Nice to meet everyone!
