Hi, I wrote a few articles on a) viewing printer with remote web cam over the Internet and b) possibility of pausing/stopping job remotely in :-

I have a process that sits on Windows and can check the printer for a shutdown command but the application itself has no hotkey or ability to actually do this. Also, shutting down the application does nothing to the print job... it just keeps running.
I have a reply to the second link above that outlines some minor changes that would enable the possibility of remote pausing etc that would require no hardware changes. At the moment the only possibility to stop a job remotely is to pull the power cord on the printer through a relay circuit that can be controlled by the host pc.
Although the hardware and software is closed source it would be great if an external process can determine the current running status and pause stop or resume prints (Under windows it's very easy to send a hotkey command from one process to another). It also means older printers still in use get the possibility of added functionality.
