Up Studio 1.6.1.0 Features

Post by 3DWP » Sun Feb 26, 2017 5:30 pm

....

I see another update (thanks) but would really like to know what has been changed/updated. Why don't we get any info about this anymore?

If we see a list with features people maybe update sooner and test these things, maybe come up with improvements or ideas.

Can we get some more info about this release?

Only thing I can see that has changed is the ability to now do vertical calibration within the Calibrate section

OK, haven't connected my Up Box yet so I can't see everything which is also annoying :)
One thing I did see is ''Easy to peel'' under print settings. What exactlyis this option Tiertime?

Anyway, on their Facebook page it's metnioned that infil is now 15% to 99%

Easy To Peel.. might mean they're changing how the base is being generated.. gota give this a try soon

99% infill is, as far as I've seen in my prints, full solid print.

I did a print with easy peel and i can finally use Up studio again with ABS.
The raft is no longer fused to my projects.

I totally agree ! With each new version, a list of:
  1. new features
  2. bug fixes
It appears that Tiertime doesn't have the resources to effectively test the software on every printer, every feature, for every release. No doubt, a huge job.
I'm sure the development team are under the pump to get it right... pressure from both ends, users and management.
With a more formal release procedure with (listed new features, bug fixes) and a means for users to report bugs, not buried and forgotten posts on this forum, then your user base can help get it right.
ATM, users are reluctant to upgrade as new versions give new features, but introduce new bugs.
