Got a Screw Loose

Post by kitutal » Wed Apr 24, 2013 1:50 pm

One of the screws under the base heater of my printer seems to be loose, the one that holds everything in place and stops the base board from twisting around just drops out every few minutes whenever the printer is running, and being within the heater, it's pretty hot, which makes it even more difficult trying to screw it back in whilst the machine is still running. Any idea how to get it to stay in place more permanently? I considered glue, but I'm not sure that would work at that temperature.

The most likely cause is if the threads on the screw are stripped.

Replace the screw. It's a standard metric size (M2.5 I think?), and you should be able to get it from a hobby shop or good hardware store. If the replacement screw is a little too long, put some washers in there to space it out.
