Up Plus stops printing
Up Plus stops printing
Hello,
I have an Up Plus which has begun to stop printing after a few mm into the model, sometimes whilst only building the raft. It just stops where it is, still heating, with no error messages. This is happening on all but the smallest prints. I have tried different models and changed filament rolls.
Also I have been getting problems sending the files to the printer although this doesnt always happen.
Any help please?
Thanks
John

Re: Up Plus stops printing
Stopping printing as in the whole machine freezes up, or as in it air prints?
O.S.

Re: Up Plus stops printing
maybe try reseating the micro sd card on the motherboard
Re: Up Plus stops printing
Stops as in stops completely and doesnt move. The head and bed continue heating and the fan stays on.
I`ll look into the sd board too.
Thanks

Re: Up Plus stops printing
I'm having this same issue with one I just bought used. Have you figured out a solution?
Re: Up Plus stops printing
Same issue. Thought I'd fixed it today by changing the SD card, but it stopped halfway through a 3-hour print.
Re: Up Plus stops printing
I never solved it, but I started printing it at a different layer height and it works fine. It's supposed to print fast at .35mm but it has that stopping issue, but if I print at .30mm it's perfectly fine like there is no problem. If I go back to .35mm though, it happens at the same exact spot in the print. I'm thinking this is some deep rooted glitch in the g-code creation because it stops in the same exact spot every time.

Printer freezes at ahigher level, but still it freezesftdesigns wrote: ↑Wed May 23, 2018 3:12 amI never solved it, but I started printing it at a different layer height and it works fine. My first thought was overheating (like extruder too hot or CPU overheating) - but stopping at the same point makes it look like a bug.
Checked SD card - problem is still there.
In case the problem is with SD card (mine is 2Gb Samsung) does anyone know requirements for the SD card (size, formatting, speed etc)?
Re: Up Plus stops printing
I just bought my Plus 2 and experience the same problem with the print stopping in the spot and seeming to lock up.
Was a solution ever found.
This is a new machine and I'm getting a bit frustrated since a previous Up machine ran non-stop.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Up Plus stops printing
I have same issue with mine. I noticed it stops when I print out a ring or a tube. After building the raft it starts print actual item, so then I can even tell where it going to stop. It is very annoying because I just bought it (2 days ago) and cannot use it normally. For me it looks like the firmware/software issue, because some items come out very good.

Re: Up Plus stops printing
Happens to me as well in the last month when i used UP Studio v2.6.20.627, it was very frustrating.
I downgraded to UP Studio v2.5.32.461 and the problem disappeared.
however after one month of usage it happened again now with UP Studio v2.5.32.461
Any idea how to solve this ?

Re: Up Plus stops printing
I reported this problem to support, but they don't seem to fix critical error (IMHO - really critical - slicer that does not slice well is a bad one).
I don't think my next 3d printer will be from tiertime - nor will I reccoment it to anyone else.
Meanwhile - did anyone try to print gcode from other silecers? What setting will you recommend for up2plus?

Re: Up Plus stops printing
I had the same problem. It was solved when I changed the power supply. I believe the old one was unable to handle the intensity during printing and made the printing to stop.
If you can, try another power supply and see if the problem is solved.
