Hi,
The stepper motor of the extruder of my Up Plus 2 does not work properly.
For some reasons, during a print (sometimes at the beginning, sometimes after one hour), the motor stops running. By doing so, it clog the hot end as no new filament is pushed.
The motor is particularly hot which could cause the controller to stop the motor but this behavious appeared just now after more than 2 years of good use...
Any idea on why this is happening and how to fix this ?
Thank you
Extruder Stepper Motor not running
Re: Extruder Stepper Motor not running
I have one that would stop pushing out plastic randomly. I replaced the extruder motor, it seemed to work for a day, then it happened again. My next try will be to replace the nozzle. I'm thinking that deposits may build up in the nozzle and prevent flow.

The same happens to my Up Box.

Do you have a plastic "cleaner" installed, the plastic is charged and attracts dust and other stuff that will create a nice plug in the nozzle.

Yes I use a filament cleaner, and it happened even with a fresh opened spool.
Re: Extruder Stepper Motor not running
I used to have problems with this ALL THE TIME....
There were two issues.
One the feed motor would overheat and either stop working OR the filament would become too gooey to feed.
Two when the USB was connected to the computer, it would stop commanding the motor to feed.
For problem 1, I added heatsinks and fans to the feed motor, which made huge improvement in print quality.
and for 2, I still unplug the USB when I'm printing.
I try to unplug it at the 5 beeps when it starts prrinting.
I just downloaded Up Studio and I can't get it to print past the first layer of the raft.
ARG!

Can you please link us to where you buy the heat sinks? I'm very interested in getting some.
