Nozzle won't heat

Post by Gilius » Fri May 31, 2013 11:08 am

My printer stopped mid print a few hours ago. I thought it was a software error because it was running without a computer attached but then I tried to print again and the nozzle wouldn't heat.

I'm getting a temperature reading from the nozzle but it won't heat at all. It stays at ambient temperature.

I understand a lot of people have had a problem with the heater block cable breaking but since the sensor is still working I wonder if that is the problem.

How can I take it apart and read the resistance on the heater core? What's the ohm value of a functional heater? Is the nozzle heater the same as the platform heater? (I've already replaced a platform heater before)

Yes my heater was burned out. I just replaced it with another 7.5ohm cartridge. Thanks for the help!
