Hand Print with a brush or spray?

Hi, for coloring thin brackets that have holes for M1.5, M2, M2.5 screws, which method (hand paint using a brush or spray) do you recommend? I plan to use the stock ABS or the nylon,

Between hand painting and using a spray gun ?I personally think that the easy way out is spray painting,as the paint doesn't apply as well as hand brushing.

I have had good results with spray paint on ABS as far as adhesion goes.
However it seems to me that the paint makes layers stand out more to the eye.
