Hello from Poland

Post by Marcin » Sun Jul 05, 2015 6:35 pm

Hi,
my name is Marcin and I'm starting my journey with 3D printing. Up! Plus2 is my first printer :)
Today I printed my first model - small at the beginning (photo in the attachment).

I know it is small (about 4 cm), but can it be smoother? I printed it with "Fine" quality , Z resolution 0,15 mm, Part angle 45, Support angle 50

Hi, I'm not an expert, but try printing with opened Wind Barrier - switch on extruder head.
It should help with printing details.
What filament are you printing? Is it UP's filament or something different?

I don't know what filament it is (probably not original), because I got it from another user. Today I will check printing without wind barrier, and 0,2 mm Z resolution and we will see :) I will invest in better filament too. Thanks for advice.

Marcin

If you upload the model I could try and print and see if it is an issue of the model or printer setup. I do think JWA is right though, it looks like it may have been a little warm printing, you should try with the wind barrier open.
Thanks,

Sometimes even better filament will not help. It can have different melting temperature than UP filament. In UP Software default nozzle temp is around 260-270 C. A lot of ABS filament (non UP) you can buy has 230-240 C . But there is also for example Orbitech filament which has in theory 265 C melting temp. and works quit good with UP.
