Seeking Stories

Post by Tiertime-Elaine » Fri Mar 16, 2018 1:46 am

Hi All,

We have been monitoring our communities since the beginning. And we found tones of interesting applications and stories.

Which printer do you use? How many?

What makes your choose Tiertime printer?

What purpose do you use it for design, prototyping, or research?

If you would like to share with us your stories, leave your answer down below or email us directly to elaine.zhou(at)tiertime.net

Tiertime wants to know!!

Cheers,
Elaine

Hi Elaine.

Work use here.

2 X Upbox
2 X Upbox+
1 X Up Mini 2
1 X Markforged Onyx Pro
1 X Makerbot 5th gen

Simplify3D

Bought because of enclosed chamber for ABS prints as recommended by our retailer Creat3D in the UK.

Used for jigs, fixtures, small batch runs of production parts (the last upbox was bought because it was more flexible and cheaper than an injection mold tool), oh and printing terminator heads, let's not forget those! Starting to be used for prototyping but it's not quite accurate enough for that really so the Markforged does most of that.

Happy to answer any other questions.

Hey...My 2 Cents =)

Which printer do you use? How many?

Upbox+ - Just the one for now.

What makes your choose Tiertime printer?

I read good reviews about the build and print quality.

What purpose do you use it for design, prototyping, or research?

Does printing nifty little gadgets and useless crap count? I've got a lot of figurines I wouldn't have had without it.

To me, it's a toy and hobby. It's expensive compared to some, but since I bought a 3d Printer, I haven't felt the need to buy the stuff I'm printing.
